This weekend was the opening of Deep South, a show that Emily and I had been anticipating for weeks. We didn't make it to New Hampshire as we had planned, but we worked really hard to get our things prepared for the show. I am so happy to say that we pulled it off, though I cut it very close to the cut-off date! I really enjoyed the past month or so working side by side with Emily. It says a lot when two girls can work side by each, day after day in a small new york apartment without hurting one another. I don't think I could have made it through the past few weeks without the support of friends, especially Emily & Paul- my temporary NYC roommates and long-time friends. Above are some images of work from my collection titled, "Mouths of the South" and below is a peek at Emily's group of work, .
Please visit the Artstream Gallery online to view more about our work as well as the work of several other great southern artists. Also, a big thank you to Grace Bonney who curated the show and to Susan, the gallery owner, for having us.
